State Goods is the art practice of Joel Gregorio.

Through original works and editions, Gregorio creates images shaped by memory, desire, nature, and the residue of lived experience. Working through layered composition and visual juxtaposition, the practice explores nostalgia, composure, wildness, and lost time.

Based in Toronto, Joel Gregorio is an artist and creative director whose broader practice moves between art, design, and visual culture. As the founder of Sovereign State, he has spent years shaping visual systems, narratives, and environments with strategy and gravity. A graduate of OCAD’s Communication and Design program, he brings a different sensitivity to State Goods, a more personal body of work rooted in presence and letting go.

Some works emerge as singular pieces. Others are released as limited editions. Across both, the intention remains the same: to create work that lingers, materially and emotionally, and continues to reveal itself over time.

Material choices are treated as part of the work itself. Paper, finish, texture, scale, and framing are considered with care, giving each piece a sense of permanence and physical presence. Whether original or editioned, the work is made to be lived with and returned to.

In Space

State Goods offers select works and commissions for interiors, hospitality settings, and other considered environments.

Whether singular pieces or small groups of works, each placement is approached with attention to scale, mood, and the character of the space itself. The aim is not simply to fill a wall, but to bring something lasting, distinct, and quietly resonant into the environment.

Projects may include private residences, hotels, restaurants, cultural spaces, and collaborative settings where artwork plays a role in shaping atmosphere and identity.
